"Each year, millions of children are investigated by Child Protective Services for child abuse and neglect. In 2014, over 3,2 million children were subject to child maltreatment reports, of those 20% were found to have evidence of maltreatment.
With 4 million child maltreatment referral reports received in 2021, the world confronts today with this old issue, having to deal with child abuse reports involving 7.2 million children and an increasing rate of child abandonment in the world. There are about 140 million orphans worldwide and five children die every day from child abuse or child neglect. Physical abuse and sexual or verbal abuse show on their victims in various traumatic experiences that deform the character and reality in their victims’ heads reflecting in their behaviours as adults."​​​​​​​
